Would be more interesting if it applied to more than postal employees (like the jerk that takes a paper after you from the box w/o putting in his own quarters).

Why limit this to postal employees? I’m more worried about the guy walking down my street to Starbucks who thinks it would be nice to have a paper to read…

What is it about the offense that appeals to you, or to your sense of whimsy (I’m guessing), James? What is curious is that it is a lesser included offense (and a misdemeanor, to boot) of section 1709, the five-year felony of theft of any “mail matter” by a postal employee.
