Strange Powers

Richard Powers has a new short story up, courtesy of Salon (two weeks only, they say). It covers familiar ground for him -- the human meaning of narrative, the possibilities of machine creativity, life and memory as a process of continual writing and rewriting -- but (or should I say "therefore"?) it's charming, wise, and unexpectedly moving.

I love this guy. (He also has a new novel coming out this winter, which is cause for extra celebration.)
