Sorry about the lengthy off-the-air session back there. One might think that with a four-day weekend, my attention to the Laboratorium would skyrocket, but apparently that's not the mechanism at work here. If pushed, I'd guess that what's actually taking place is that the Laboratorium is the means I use to deal with mental churn, and that when the external stimuli are cut back, the safety valve doesn't need to be opened as much. Part of that unused Laboratorium energy has gone into postings to the Fray over at Slate. I've collected those musings into a mini-archive. I've also been working on a bunch of puzzles, but since the competition they're to be used for hasn't happened yet, I can't actually reveal them.
